Information on Flour Bluff Intermediate

Overview

The academic programs at the Intermediate Campus are both rigorous and well rounded. Expectations are high and our students meet the challenge on a daily basis. Intermediate students take math, science, reading, grammar, social studies, and PE daily. Also, each student takes an elective class. Currently we offer general music, cultural arts, technology, and oceanography for 5th graders and band, choir, music, and oceanography for 6th grade students.

  • Early Bird Tutoring is available from 7:15 – 7:45 a.m. Monday through Friday
  • Late Owl Tutoring is available from 3:55 – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Contact the front office or your student’s teacher for more information.

One interesting feature at Flour Bluff Intermediate is our morning announcements show called Intermediate Live. The program is broadcast to each classroom over our television network every morning at 7:55. The IL crew consists of students selected for outstanding citizenship, dependability, and a willingness to work hard. They operate the computer equipment, narrate, and anchor the news. Each broadcast uses music, computer graphics, and video to show all of the news fit for TV. The broadcasts highlight student accomplishments, provide important information, and give an upbeat start to the day.

The Intermediate campus has numerous organizations and clubs where students can find activities that match their interest. The Running Club, Chess Club, Science Club, Garden Club, Student Council, Safety Patrol, and Art Club are just a few organizations that students will have the opportunity to join. In addition our Intermediate University Interscholastic League (UIL) teams are also available for students to participate; the (UIL) teams compete in multiple local and state competitions.
