SUMMARY:6th Grade Band Informance
DESCRIPTION:Flour Bluff Intermediate Cafeteria \nDecember 12th \n6PM (Doors open at 5:15PM) \nAn Informance is essentially a sneak peek into the working of a band/music classroom. Instead of a performance where each group plays about 3 pieces and then the concert is done\, an Informance shows how students operate in a daily classroom. We will show the audience our classroom expectations\, our fundamental skills\, how we learn pieces of music\, and many other classroom activities. We will still perform some pieces at the concert\, but we will also show how we fix our musical mistakes live in front of the audience. The purpose of the Informance is to educate parents and staff about how a band program operates since it does not operate like a normal core subject classroom. This creates an understanding and recognition of the work needed to be successful in band (and in real life) and helps bridge the learning gap between parents and students.
